Native Gardening
Restoring nature one garden at a time
Our urban green spaces in San Diego County – gardens, balconies, commercial areas, and public parks – have a vast potential to support biodiversity. However, only native plants can support native animals such as our butterflies, bees, and birds, thereby building the foundation of the food web within these green spaces.
With this, the crucial role of native plant green spaces in our collaborative journey towards a sustainable future becomes apparent: Not only do these greenspaces sustain life, but they also serve as carbon sinks, create pleasant microclimates, support pollinators, and effectively manage water resources.
Through our combined efforts, we can create vibrant, biodiverse environments that benefit everyone – restoring nature, one garden at a time.

CNPS San Diego Native Garden Team has done an incredible job with the landscape here in Bird Park! We love how intentional and beautiful the design is. Whenever we sit on our favourite stone or walk the garden path, it brings us so much peace and keeps us in a positive mood all day long.
