Cultivating Community: Homegrown Native Gardens & the Stories Behind Them

October 20 @ 6:15 pm - 9:00 pm

About the Talk

Cultivating Community: Homegrown Native Gardens & the Stories Behind Them

Designing a native garden is a personal journey filled with trial, error, and unexpected triumphs. This month, we are delighted to bring back fan-favorite hosts from past CNPS San Diego Native Garden Tours to share the heartfelt stories behind their landscapes.

Join us as local gardeners Jim Julius, Molly Gee, and husband-and-wife duo Jennifer Bennett & John Hogan open up their visual journals to walk us through their DIY transformations. Through fast-paced, photo-rich slideshows, they will share what inspired their designs, the plants that thrived (and those that didn’t!), and the practical wisdom they wish they had when they first started. An audience Q&A will follow the presentations.

Come get inspired by real neighborhood experiences, gather practical DIY strategies, and connect with fellow plant lovers who are helping restore San Diego’s natural heritage – one yard at a time.

Behind every featured CNPS tour garden is a homeowner with a vision, a shovel, and a story.
